2 top-tier strength and conditioning drills for elite soccer players!

To get mind-blowing strength and gridiron glory, you MUST have an effective battery of strength and conditioning exercises in place. Take a minute to read up and learn about strength and conditioning for soccer athletes! If you’re going to be a competitor on the field of play today, you need to incorporate a page from your training past into your strength and conditioning program, dude.

So which page from yesterday am I talking about? Well, I’m talking about training with the old-fashioned kettlebell! That’s right, I said kettlebell my friend. This age-old strength and conditioning device is second to none when helping you develop an explosive, powerful body fit to dish out punishment on the football field all day long. Take a look at the following 2 strength and conditioning exercises that you can implement with this ancient tool to take your game to new heights.

1. The Kettlebell Double Clean, Squat, and Pulldown: For this particular strength and conditioning exercise, you’ll need the availability of a pair of moderate-resistance kettlebells. Place the bells between your feet. Properly perform a kettlebell clean by placing the bells on your chest. Next, perform a kettlebell front squat. Now make sure you don’t let the bells push you forward and lose your balance. Stabilize your body and lower yourself enough to touch the inside of your knees with your elbows. Once you come up explosively, extend your hips and knees to create the momentum needed to press or move the kettlebell to a locked position overhead.

2. The Double Kettlebell See Saw Press: For this exercise, you’ll focus on developing some Herculean shoulders. Once again, properly clean your chest bells. Press a bell over your head. Now, as you lower the first bell pressed, start pressing the second kettlebell before allowing the first bell to stop. You see, the goal is to continually alternate pressing the bells without allowing one to come to a complete rest, hence the name see saw press. These exercises are perfect for any serious football player, but are especially beneficial for NFL and college strength and conditioning programs! If you haven’t included kettlebell training in your personal fitness and strength program, you’re missing out. Remember anyone can train hard but only champions train smart my friend!
