There were so many times when I wanted to say way more than 140 characters on Twitter. We have all been there! And honestly, that amount of space IS a lot to get a message across. However, there are many who simply disagree. Still, we all have to abide by that limit.
There are many clever abbreviations that we can use to shorten tweets. Most people like it short and to the point. Make it a long, long message and people will often get lost in it. And what do they do? Go ahead!
Of course, you want people to stick around long enough to read your post. I know for myself, we a website for example…if there is a very long welcome message, most of the time I click to exit. However, on Twitter, the platform takes care of that problem. We have 140 characters, use them wisely!

The links we use on Twitter can be very long. Fortunately, there are many link shortening services available to us. I prefer bit.ly, as I have it in my favorites, so all I have to do is click and enter my URL, and click shorten, and it instantly gives me the shortened version.
