New Hyundai I20 IGen Launched At Rs 4.73 Lakh


Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), the Indian unit of the leading South Korea-based automaker, has launched the All New Hyundai iGen i20 model in the Indian market. The country’s largest car exporter launched the iGen i20 in petrol and diesel variants, with a total of 12 variants. According to the company, the new iGen i20 model is blessed with a range of high-tech and innovative features, which have been incorporated into the car following extensive surveys to offer a high-value proposition to customers in this segment.

While the petrol version of the car is available in the price range of Rs 473,400 to Rs 665,894, the diesel version is protected in the price segment of Rs 596,334 to Rs 744,013. On the other hand, the automatic transmission version of the car is priced at Rs 767,405.

All variants of the Hyundai i20 iGen car model are blessed with upgraded engine units with increased power and fuel economy. The gasoline version of the car is powered by a 1.2 Kappa engine (with Dual VTVT technology) that is capable of delivering a maximum power of 84 hp. On the other hand, the diesel variant of the car is loaded with a high-tech 1.4 U2 CRDi diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 90 PS with a whopping 22.4 kg-m of torque. The diesel version of the new iGen i20 will come with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is also a higher output 1.4L Gamma automatic petrol version which offers a massive 100bhp combined with a maximum torque of 13.9kg-m.

The new Hyundai iGen i20 is a highly fuel efficient model offering fuel economy of 18.5 km per litre, 21.9 km per litre, and 15 km per litre, in 1.2L petrol, 1.4L and 1.4L Petrol.

The car has a number of features that enhance road presence on the exterior front end, including the high-gloss front grille, the rear spoiler in combination with the integrated brake light, the stylish 8-spoke alloy wheels, the exterior mirror mounted turn indicators, etc.

The new version of this premium hatchback, Hyundai i20, comes loaded with a range of class-apart premium comfort and convenience features, including rear parking camera with in-cab mirror display, Clean Air-Cluster ionizer that maintains the in-cabin air quality, Electro Chromic Mirror with anti-dazzle vision technology, multiple airbags, auto headlight control feature, rain-sensing windshield wipers, smart key push button start, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob , armrests for the driver’s seat, tilt and telescopic steering, heated outside mirrors that are power-adjustable and folding, and a 60:40 split rear seat.

In addition, the in-car entertainment package is packed with features such as the 2-DIN CD/MP3 music system with 2 tweeters and 4 speakers (supports auxiliary input, Bluetooth and USB connectivity); Steering wheel mounted controls Audio and Bluetooth.

The car’s safety package seems quite capable of saving passengers, on both the active and passive fronts, with advanced features like multiple airbags, clutch lock-up, smart pedal system, impact-sensing automatic door unlocking, automatic door locking with speed detection, reverse parking sensors and ABS.
