The best cooperative family games for Xbox 360

If you’re like many gamer parents, you may find it difficult to balance gaming and family time. Fortunately, there are some great Xbox 360 games for the whole family that you can play with your family and make great memories. There is no greater feeling than completing a mission or a game together with your children. Games can not only be fun for everyone, but they really teach you how to work together and solve problems. This is a moment they will cherish when they grow up and have children of their own.

Here is a list of my family’s favorite Xbox 360 co-op games:

1- Toy Story 3: If you have a Toy Story fan in your house, then this game is a no-brainer. The best thing about this game is that you can play through the story as any character together. My favorite part of the game is the toy box mode. Here you can work together to build the city and complete a variety of missions.

2- Lego Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Batman and Indian Jones: All Lego games emphasize teamwork and cooperation. There are unlimited ways to play the game with your children. You can’t go wrong with any of the games. Whatever your kids are doing at the moment is sure to keep everyone busy for a long time.

3- Rayman Origins: If you have ever played New Super Mario Bros for Wii, then you have an idea of what Rayman Origins is all about. This side-scrolling platform game can be played by up to 4 people on the same screen. If someone dies, you can save them just by touching them. This creates frustrating free time with your children.

4- Shrek Forever After: I know, it’s based on a movie, but this licensed game is really fun. A lot of movie based games really aren’t that well developed. I must say that my family had a lot of fun with this game. Players can play through the story as any of the characters. This is a great way to spend a Friday night instead of just seeing the movie.

5- Cars 2: Yes, another game of movies. This is one of the few movie games worth playing. My kids love the Cars movies and they loved playing this game. It’s a nice change of pace from character control and racing, but it’s not all about competition. There is a long story mode as well as a free play mode where you can play split screen.

These are the cream of the crop when it comes to the Xbox 360. Sure there are better games out there, but none that can be played cooperatively with kids and enjoyed by the whole family. Have fun playing with your family!
