The world’s first wristwatch videophone

The world’s first video wristwatch phone, the LG-GD910, was introduced by LG at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in February 2009. The future has arrived. You should be able to buy it in Europe by the end of 2009. For technology lovers, this wristwatch phone is made with a metal casing and a curved tempered glass face. It is very compact at only 13.9mm deep. There is a built-in camera to enable video calls and its support for HSDPA 3G 7.2Mbps facilitates high-speed data transmission. There is a full touch screen interface and includes a blue tooth headset.

This mobile phone also has speech recognition and text to speech (TTS) to make our lives better. So that you can also listen to music on your travels, there is also an integrated MP3 player. Another big plus is that you can’t lose your cell phone so easily if it’s strapped to your wrist. Dick Tracy will be an unknown name to most of you. He used to be a comic strip detective hero in the 1950s. He had a sci-fi wristwatch that doubled as a two-way radio. They probably thought it couldn’t happen then.

Well, 50 years later, LG did a lot better and designed the LG-GD910, which is a watch that’s also a phone. In addition, it can also display video. This makes it the world’s first wrist-worn videophone and should be available by the end of 2009. The middle of the 20th century became an era for thinking ahead. We were coming through World War II and people were very optimistic about the future. The Internet was just beginning. Many thoughts like this were being planned that were basically based on the technology introduced due to the war. We were about to travel to the moon, then to the planets and stars of distant galaxies.

We got to the moon, but we didn’t go much farther into space, but many of the other inventions that were considered science fiction at the time have made life a lot easier for this generation. This applies especially in the area of communications. LG has now made a huge leap in technology, but it still won’t necessarily be able to solve crimes as well as Dick Tracy did.
